Hello, welcome, and thank you for visiting my talking therapy website.

Most likely you are thinking about seeing me or another therapist because you have some difficulty to resolve that has become too much to bear, or have found therapy useful before and wish to do some more work or work at a deeper level on a returning difficulty, or find resolution.

People seek therapy for many different reasons, we are all unique and that is OK, here are some of the presenting issues you will have heard of, and other reasons too.

  • Relationship Challenges (Couples also Welcome)
  • Survivor of Abuses - Physical, Sexual, Emotional / Neglect, Cultural / Religious
  • Addiction - Including Alcohol and other Drugs
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement  & Loss including Redundancy, Divorce, Children left home, Age
  • Trauma both historical and non-historical including PTSD and symptoms of
  • Repeated Patterns - why do I keep doing that ?
  • Self Worth including Confidence and Self Image / Self Sabotage
  • Food and Eating
  • Feeling pressured ‘under the spotlight’
  • Recuperating from mental illness.
  • I get so Angry / I never get Angry and other areas of Emotional Regulation
  • Deep down, I know there’s something wrong with me………
  • I always wondered about therapy?
  • I'm thinking of training in therapy and need help in understanding courses/modalities/organisations.

Lots of other reasons, truly as many reasons as there are different people in our world.

Therapy is better thought about as Personal Growth and Change, rather than what is wrong with you.

A no-obligation 30 min appointment to experience what it’s like to be ‘in the room’ together and discuss the changes you wish to make is the next step after we have spoken by phone. You may have emailed/texted prior to that, many clients do. I always ensure this first meeting can turn into a session afterwards if we agree to work together. Covid has changed the delivery of Therapy and I also work online using Zoom, Facetime or Skype. This is not lesser, but, different.

If you are new to therapy I suggest an initial 6 or 12 session commitment. A lot of work is possible within six weeks or three months, and for some issues that may be enough. Some deep work can take longer. If you’ve been one way all your life or subjected to severe trauma, shifting/changing/ recovering your ‘true’ self may take time. I’m ethically bound to work in your best interests, only on what you identify you want to work on, and to end therapy when that work is done. I am experienced in working with a variety of clients including those whose stories or difficulties are ‘severe’

I work from my private therapy room here in my home in rural tranquil Bodiam on the East Sussex /Kent border. Easy reach of Hastings, Battle, Rye, Uckfield, Wadhurst, Tenterden, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. Situated in a quiet location with guaranteed easy on-street car parking. In summer months the Summer House may be used which looks onto a picturesque rural landscape.
